The Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor), is part of a network of regional development agencies across the country which fosters the right environment to allow entrepreneurs and innovators to help grow businesses, creating the ideal conditions for the development of a strong, dynamic Northern Ontario economy.
In this position you will lead a team of dedicated Community Economic Development Officers to deliver economic development programs and services for Northern Ontario, including:
• administering nationally coordinated programs tailored to fit regional needs and circumstances;
• providing access to financial assistance;
• bringing together key players in their respective ecosystems;
• supporting economic development projects and activities; and,
• implementing regional growth strategies.

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education and significant relevant* experience.
* Relevant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of work demonstrated normally acquired by performing duties for a period of approximately five (5) years.
Experience:
Experience in leading economic development projects and/or programs.
Experience in developing and providing advice on complex matters.
Experience in building and cultivating effective and reciprocal networks and collaborations
Experience in managing human and financial resource.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
NOTE: If no candidate qualifies for the Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC position, we will consider candidates at the Bilingual Non-Imperative CBC/CBC level.
