The incumbent will be collecting samples and will be processing them for chemical analysis. He/she will also be responsible for designing experiments, and generating and collecting data for hypothesis testing. In addition, he/she will be analyzing biomaterials using relevant scientific equipment needed for chemical and physical characterization. He/she will be responsible for supporting scale-up and optimization of biomaterial processing. Analysis of data, interpretation of research results, and preparing technical reports for peer review/publication will also be expected from the incumbent.
The Saskatoon Research and Development Centre is one of a network of national agricultural research centres operated by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. The Centre conducts research on prairie crops to support the agri-food industry in Western Canada. Leading research focuses on the Integrated crop management for sustainable cropping systems on the Canadian Prairies, Sustainable management of clubroot on canola, Integrated strategies for genetic improvement of oilseed, legume, and forage crops, Genetic resource conservation, characterization and utilization, and Bioproducts and bioresources.

Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a MSc program with specialization in Food science/biomaterial chemistry at the University of Saskatchewan.
Experience in chemical analysis of biomaterial/food components.
Experience in applying experimental designs, data collection, and data analysis for hypothesis testing.
Experience in using laboratory equipment required for chemical analysis and physical testing of biomaterials.
Experience in working in group environment such as sharing resources, information and regular team communication activities.
Experience in interpretation of research data and preparing technical reports for peer review/publication.
English essential
