Courts Administration Service (CAS) pays it employees through Phoenix, but has its own Compensation services which include direct access to a Compensation Advisor in Ottawa for timely resolution of any pay issues that arise.
The Project Management Senior Advisor will be responsible for:
• Develop the Project Gating Framework and associated policy and directive;
• Develop the Project Gating tools and guidelines required to manage project gating activities;
• Launch project gating activities at CAS;
• Manage project gating activities at CAS;
• Inform and train CAS employees on Project and Gating Management;
• Review the CAS Project Management Framework and associated policy and directive and recommend improvements, if required;
• Review the project management tools and guidelines and recommend improvements, if required.

The Courts Administration Service (CAS) is a distinctive organization in the Government of Canada that serves to support access to justice nationwide, and facilitate coordination and support among the four courts; serving the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Court Martial Appeal Court and the Tax Court of Canada.
The small size of CAS and the newly restructures Enterprise Project Management Office provides an opportunity to work directly in both Associate Deputy Ministers’ Offices, notably advising CAS’s Deputy Chief Administrator, Corporate Services and working on a variety of high profile projects that have direct impact on the entire organization. You’ll operate in a fast-paced judicial environment, collaborating with all branches of the organization, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely and accurate projects and services. You’ll also have a rare opportunity to network with a variety of members within the organization, including judges and senior executives, and to gain a wide breadth of experience that wouldn’t be possible in many larger departments.

At minimum, a high school diploma from a recognized institution OR an acceptable
combination of education, training and experience.
Recent* and significant** experience managing projects evaluated as part of a project
gating process or recent* and significant** experience evaluating projects and leading
project gate reviews.
Recent* and significant** experience in the management of projects, including the
development and maintenance of required project documentation, consistent with
practices and techniques of project management as shown in the Project Management
Book of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Experience developing recommendations for senior management (Director General
level or above).
Experience developing and maintaining cross-functional internal relationships with
partners and stakeholders.
Experience in planning, coordinating, chairing meetings OR working groups.
*Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
**Significant refers to the breadth and depth of experience and is defined as a
combination of time spent doing the activity, as well as type (range, scope, and
complexity) of work handled related to the experience criteria.
Project management certification (e.g., Project Management Professional).
Experience working in a judicial or quasi-judicial environment.
Experience managing projects within the public service.
Experience assisting with the investment planning exercise of an organisation.
Experience in developing policies, procedures, tools or guidelines.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
