Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to fill current and future vacancies, on a temporary, part-time or full-time basis within RCMP.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

EDUCATION

Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Recent* and significant** experience using a policing operational records management system (example: PROS, Versadex, PAT, PIRS, PRIME)

Experience in providing advice, support and recommendations to clients within a policing environment.

Experience organizing and delivering training (individual or group).

*Recent is having experience acquired within the last three years

**”Significant” experience refers to a depth & breadth of experience associated with full time performance of the duties.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience using CPIC.

Experience with Disposition reporting and/or CJIM reporting.

Experience in interpreting and applying Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR).

Experience working with Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS).

Experience writing reports.

Occupational Certification:

PROS Information Manager (IM) Certification

Willingness to work overtime as required.

Willingness to travel as required, which may include via small aircraft to remote locations.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid Secret Security Clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

To be granted RCMP security clearance and to maintain the ethical standards of the RCMP, candidates must not be, or have been, involved in certain criminal activities, have been dishonourably discharged, have pending personal bankruptcies, etc. For additional information and a complete list of activities, please visit http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/qualifications-and-requirements and read the section titled “To apply as a police officer, you must not have”, as well as the applicable considerations.
