Information on employment equity
We will accept applications on-line only. Persons with disabilities preventing them from applying on-line are asked to communicate with the contact person identified on this poster.
Communication for this process will be sent via e-mail. Applicants should use an email address that accepts messages from unknown senders (some email systems block such messages). It is your responsibility to check both your jobs.gc.ca account and email account regularly to ensure that you do not miss any opportunities. Make sure to also check your junk mail folder. It is entirely your responsibility to inform us of any changes to your contact information. If you do not respond to our communications, we will interpret this as your withdrawal from the process.
You have the right to apply and be assessed in the official language of your choice.
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed.
Depending on the requirements of the position(s) being staffed from this process, for current or future vacancies, other qualifications, operational requirements, and organizational needs may be required and applied at the time of staffing. Candidates may be contacted and assessed against these criteria at any time during this process.
We ask for your collaboration to ensure an efficient process. We will not consider requests for rescheduling beyond the reasons we will outline to candidates. Candidates who do not respond to inquiries from the assessment committee by the required deadlines or fail to attend/complete the assessment without good reason may be eliminated from further consideration.
A variety of assessment tools may be used in the assessment of candidates, such as: online written test / situational exercise, performance appraisals, informal interview, reference checks, and/or assessment board member personal/direct knowledge of candidates’ qualifications. Some assessment tools may be administered electronically, others, in-person.
Volume management strategies could be applied at any stage of the process to identify which applications will be given further consideration, for example asset qualifications, top-down and/or random selection.
Candidates must provide proof of their education during the assessment phase. Original diplomas, degrees or certified transcripts may be required and must be presented upon request. Failure to produce required documents will result in your application not being considered. If you went to school outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. Read more on Degree equivalency or visit the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) at: https://www.cicic.ca.
If you are required to travel for any of the assessment phases, travel costs will be at your own expense. As much as possible, we will embrace technology to reduce the need for travel.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
Information on the preference to veterans
We thank all those who apply. Only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
