Tasks:
-Ensure the supply of government quality assurance(GQA) services
-Analyse the contracts and specifications, drawings, publications and evaluation reports related thereto.
-Assess the risks associated with contractors and products/services.
-Carry out the quality surveillance activities (audits).

This process will be used to staff one indeterminate (permanent) position.
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of National Defence , whose language proficiencies and security profiles could vary depending on the position being staffed.

EDUCATION:
A postsecondary degree from a program of at least two ( 2) years from a recognized technological institute with a specialization in a technical or scientific field (electrical engineering, electronics, aerospace or marine engineering or naval architecture or mechanical or industrial engineering technology; or other technological / manufacturing field deemed pertinent).
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a technological / manufacturing field deemed relevant.
EXPERIENCE:
Significant** and recent* experience in quality control or quality assurance in a technological or manufacturing field related to the position
Significant** and recent* experience performing system, process or product audits.
Experience in using word processing software and spreadsheet software.
* Recent experience: experience acquired during the last five years.
** Significant experience: Minimum of two years’ experience.

ASSET Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in initiating and following up corrective actions with the business management team.
Experience in the AF9000+ program or other Quality standard.
Recent * and significant ** experience in naval architecture system or naval electrical system or marine mechanics or ship armament or vessel maintenance and military platform armament.
Recent * and significant ** experience in manufacturing or repair and overhaul contract on NASA / Aerospace projects.
Recent * and significant ** experience in munitions manufacturing as well as appropriate safety and security requirements.
Recent * and significant ** experience in the aeronautical field in maintenance or manufacturing or repair and overhaul of aircraft.
Experience as an auditor/ Certified Auditor
Experience in the process used in the manufacturing or repair or overhaul of military equipment and material.
Experience with SAP ERP (Enterprise resource planning) or equivalent
Experience in quality assurance, engineering or technical support in contracted work related to manufacturing or repair and overhaul of military equipment.
Experience in risk analysis related to the quality assurance domain.
Experience in providing advice and recommendations to clients or management.
* Recent experience: experience acquired during the last five years.
** Significant experience: Minimum of two years’ experience.

REQUIRED CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must obtain and secure Authorization Level II (Secret)
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license without restriction, issued by Quebec province or the provincial or Canadian territorial equivalent.
To be able to present on demand a satisfying Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) driver file or equivalent of other Canadian province or territories.
Willing and able to be assigned to a work place or to a number of contractors in a geographic area who requires frequent travel to contractors’ facilities in all weather conditions.
Willing and able to walk considerably, stand, bend and climb during visit at the plant when conducting surveillance activities and investigations.
When required, the position requires to wear protective clothing, and exposure to regular plant hazards such as but not limited to: radiation and nuclear material, volatile fumes, operating machinery, vehicular traffic, noise, fumes, heat and cold.
Willing and able to travel* within and outside the headquarters area.
*All travel authorized by the employer will be paid or reimbursed from public funds as per the National Joint Council Directive.
Willing and able to work overtime when required.
