A pool of qualified candidates could be established for the purpose of staffing similar positions of varying lengths (term, indeterminate, assignment, secondment, transfer and acting).

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in electrical engineering, physics engineering, or in another field of engineering relevant to the position

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE :
Experience in at least four (4) of the five (5) fields:

- Experience with performing radiometric and/or photometric calculations

- Experience with applying signal processing techniques (for example: filtering, data compression and transmission, noise reduction, deconvolution, prediction, identification, classification, etc.)

- Experience with developing image processing algorithm (for example: AGC, noise suppression, image compression while minimizing loss of image quality, dynamic range optimization)

- Experience in software conception to control/slave electro-optical equipment

- Experience in design, development and carrying out electro-optical equipment test and characterization setup

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in electro-optical systems development

- Experience in characterization and/or analysis of data coming from thermal camera characterization activities

- Experience in characterization and/or analysis of data coming from night vision system characterization activities

- Experience in optical design

Information on language requirements

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the engineering theory, principles and practices in the following domains:
a. Optical systems;
b. Optronic sensors;
c. Statistical analysis; and
d. Programming (control, acquisition and processing)

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to plan, execute and coordinate engineering works on an individual basis, or within a team, involving many projects simultaneously

- Ability to create or innovate with new experimental approaches or new concepts

- Ability to analyze and solve technical problems and to formulate effective recommendations

- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

- Ability to manage human, material and financial resources

Be available to lead and coordinate field trials

Be prepared to travel in Canada and internationally a few times per year
