This is a full-time indeterminate position in Sarnia, ON OR Winnipeg, MB. The anticipated number of position(s) that may be staffed with this advertised process is one (1); however, a pool of qualified candidates may be established through this staffing process and may be used to staff similar positions with different tenures (i.e. on a term, acting or an indeterminate basis) in other locations.

Your résumé.
Successful completion of approved post-secondary education (Diploma) in an Engineering, Construction , Architectural Technology field or Property Management program, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Acceptable combination: Technician level education (in Engineering, Construction, Architecture) with a record of progressive training and experience at supervisory or managerial levels for a continuous period not less than 2 years.
Recent* and significant** experience in managing financial and material resources, involving multiple personnel with multi-disciplinary skills.
Recent* experience in managing major contracts*** including construction or significant repair/works management and administering the delivery of property and facilities management service through the public or private sector. Should include technical preparation of specifications and statements of work.
Recent* experience in providing operational, technical and maintenance advice and guidance to senior management and clients on building systems.
*Recent experience is defined as experience gained over the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defines as continuous effort for a period of no less than 6 months.
***Major contracts would include those contracts valued at 100,000 dollars or more and with several distinct elements (i.e. construction of a facility and its various systems)
Knowledge of project management principles and practices, in particular, understanding activity breakdown structures, evaluating critical path and interpreting Gantt chart formats.
Knowledge of inspection or investigation or audit practices and techniques for conducting or administering facilities maintenance management.

Possession of, or engagement in certification of one or more of the following designations or Occupational certifications: Real property Administrator, Certified Property Manager, Certified Facilities Manager, Facilities Management Administrator
Experience working with one or more of the following: Canadian Labour Code, and/or Fire Codes, and/or Electrical Codes, and/or Building Codes.
Experience using project management systems/software (such as, but not limited to, the National Project Management System (NPMS))

Must be willing to undertake On-call or Standby like functions, and respond in urgent, emergency situations, based upon contract provisions, and in recognition that various clients operate year round on a 24/7 basis.
Willing to work in remote locations. Travel may include various modes of transportation, via land, sea or air or any combination thereof.
Willing to work in light to medium industrial facilities with associated offices, combination office and laboratory facilities and/or small buildings and adjacent to, or within a marine environment with exposure to noise, mechanical/electrical machinery, fuels/lubricants and Hazmat/WHIMIS exposures.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
