If you are an experienced communicator eager to take on new opportunities and experiences by working as part of a pan-territorial team for a small organization with an exciting mandate, this could be the perfect job for you.
The Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) is looking for an IS04 Communications Advisor to provide strategic communications advice and support for its Northwest Territories (NWT) regional office in Yellowknife.
In this position, you would be part of a team across three time zones and four locations with offices in Iqaluit, Yellowknife, Whitehorse and Ottawa. The communications team develops and rolls-out communications on multiple platforms to promote an understanding of the Agency’s mandate, services and policies while building partnerships to leverage investments in the North and advocating for the interests of northerners and Indigenous peoples. Reporting directly to the Manager of Communications, your role as an advisor would be to provide communications support for the NWT region.
Your office would be located in Yellowknife, NWT, the city known as the “Northern Lights capital of the world”. Due to the unique nature of life in the North, we ask that candidates from outside the North reflect on this requirement before submitting their application; this location is not the right fit for everyone. Named the “biggest little city in Canada”, Yellowknife offers diversity in culture, cuisine, outdoor adventures and true northern experiences. If you enjoy nature and appreciate the beauty and climate of a northern landscape, you will thrive in this environment. We invite you to visit this Northwest Territories Tourism link for more information about Yellowknife: https://spectacularnwt.com/.
This position does qualify for northern allowances for you and your family.
