The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. The results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

Education:
Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in environmental sciences, environmental studies, environmental engineering, biology, ecology, chemistry, earth sciences, physical geography, or other science or applied science directly relevant to the position.
Experience:
Significant * and recent** experience conducting or managing contaminated sites projects involving one or more of the following disciplines:
•Phased environmental site assessments
•Environmental risk assessments
•Remediation
Significant * and recent** experience in managing contractors or consultants (including sub-contractors) during the execution of contaminated sites projects
Recent** experience in developing project management practices (for example: scope development, terms of reference, schedule development, budget control)
NOTE:
*Significant is defined as experience associated with having performed a range of activities on a variety of projects of varying sizes and complexity, normally acquired with having undertaken this work on a regular basis for approximately 3 years. Complex files would contain two or more of the following characteristics: high profile (e.g. public or media attention), multi-stakeholder, high value, multi-organizational, multi-jurisdictional (e.g. public-private, federal-provincial, federal-municipal), broad in scope, requiring broad consultations, high impact, or any other factors that the candidate can demonstrate that constitute complex.

Asset Qualifications
Education:
Masters degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the duties of the position
Occupational Certification:
Certificate as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist in Canada
Certificate as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
Experience:
Recent experience in conducting or managing Ecological Risk Assessment
Recent experience in conducting or managing Human Health Risk Assessment
Recent experience in hydrogeological studies and groundwater potable water issues
Recent experience in conducting or managing remediation projects with a minimum value of $100,000 through design, implementation and close out phases
Recent experience as QP ESA for RSC submissions to Ontario MOECC under O.Reg.153/04 as amended, with proof, dates and site name
Recent experience as QP RA for submissions to Ontario MOECC under O.Reg.153/04 as amended, with proof, dates and site name
Recent experience in conducting or managing petroleum storage tank management projects including assessments, design and implementation
Experience working with federal, provincial or municipal environmental regulatory agencies and/or other related stakeholders such as indigenous peoples or non-governmental environmental organizations regarding contaminated sites
Recent experience in contaminated sediment remediation or dredging projects
Operational Requirements:
Possession of a valid Driver's Licence or personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a valid driver's licence
Able and willing to travel and work overtime
Able and willing to enter confined spaces
Able and willing to travel to construction work sites, use ladders and/or power lifts to access areas of work for inspection or assessment
