Intent of the process

A pool of (fully or partially) qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative), language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.)) various security requirements , various conditions of employment and for various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in public administration, business administration, commerce or another discipline relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Significant* and recent** experience in planning, conducting and reporting on internal audits or external audits.

Recent** experience in presenting audit findings, audit conclusions and audit recommendations to senior management***.

Experience in overseeing the work of junior audit staff.

Recent** experience in writing and reporting on complete or major sections of audit reports.

* Significant experience is defined as approximately three (3) years or more.
** Recent experience is defined as experience gained within the last five (5) years.
*** Senior management is defined as executives at the Director General level (or equivalent) and above.

Possession of a recognized professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA, CA, CMA or CGA).

Possession of a recognized professional internal audit designation (i.e. CIA, CGAP or CISA).

Experience in developing Risk Based Audit Plans.

Experience using audit software such as TeamMate.

Experience in performing liaison with external assurance providers.

Experience conducting follow-up on audit recommendations.

Experience performing consulting engagement or advisory work and communicating its results to senior management.

The breadth and depth of experience may/will be considered when making selections from the qualified pool and in determining the “best fit” for the organization.
