The immediate need is to staff two positions on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and an RCMP Enhanced Reliability security clearance
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

► Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Building Engineering.
Experience (All Streams):
► Experience in leading teams of engineering and technical specialists.
► Experience in preparing managerial and technical reports including cost-benefit or life-cycle analysis.
Stream 1 - Building Performance Engineer
► Significant and recent* experience in managing projects involving the design/construction of buildings, repair works including review of proposals, construction project planning, overseeing architectural designs, resource control, financial management and contract administration.
► Significant and recent* experience in managing and developing project requirements and architectural/engineering reports, conducting studies and assessing infrastructure renewal initiatives.
► Significant and recent* experience in the design or analysis of building systems.
Stream 2 - Fire Protection Engineer
► Significant and recent* experience designing or reviewing fire protection infrastructure for real property projects.
► Significant and recent* experience in managing fire protection infrastructure related to real property projects including: the development of requirements, conducting studies and assessing existing conditions for compliance with the prevailing building and fire codes and related standards.
► Significant and recent experience in conducting site investigations, inspections and assessment of conditions of building systems and reporting on same.
*Significant and recent experience in this context is that which would normally be acquired over a period of at least 5 years in a professional engineering capacity within the past 10 years.
Asset Qualifications:
► Accreditation as a Professional Engineer in Canada, Project Management Professional or Certified Fire Protection Specialist
► Experience working with engineering projects in a security environment.

► Knowledge of the prevailing building and fire codes, and related standards and their influence on building design, construction and maintenance.

Stream 1 - Building Performance Engineer
► Knowledge of the Federal Government’s programs aimed at greening buildings OR fire protection in buildings.
► Knowledge of connectivity requirements in building/infrastructure applications.
► Knowledge of building security concepts and related technology.
► Knowledge of legislation, rules, regulations, policies, best practices and procedures related to building systems.
Stream 2 - Fire Protection Engineer
► Knowledge of managing the requirements between fire protection and general architectural design including electrical, mechanical and structural engineering.
► Knowledge of hydraulic calculations related to fire suppression systems.
► Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems.
Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP
