Assessment accommodation

Duties

The duties of the Senior Asset Manager include but are not limited to:
- Directing the life-cycle management of RCMP Real Property assets;
- Develops, implements and manages strategic investment strategies, capital investment plans, business plans and preventative maintenance and emergency preparedness plans;
- Manages junior staff;
- Directs, controls and monitors construction and renovation of new or existing accommodations and facilities; and
- Forecasts and manages annual allocation of financial resources.

Intent of the process

This process will initially be used to staff two (2) indeterminate positions in Edmonton, AB, one (1) indeterminate position in Winnipeg, MB, and an anticipatory position in Regina, SK.

A qualified pool of candidates will be created and used to staff similar positions with various tenures (permanent/temporary) within the Corporate Management Branch of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.*

*Proof of education and/or training will be required prior to appointment.

Degree equivalency

*Recent experience with delivering projects to acquire, dispose, build, lease, or renovate real property.
*Recent experience in managing contracts and administering the delivery of real property services
Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams in the provision of real property services
Experience with developing and managing relationships with clients.

*Recent as being performed within the past 3 years for a minimum duration of 1 year.

Successful completion of a certificate in facilities, project, or real property management; or a business related degree or diploma.

Degree equivalency

Experience in reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications
Experience in managing financial resources

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willing and able to work overtime, as required
Willing and able to work in and around construction sites, including wearing personal protective equipment.
Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes, using various modes of transportation.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

Possession of a valid Canadian Driver’s license equivalent to a Class 5 in the province of the position to be staffed.
