We have currently a need to staff a permanent position in Sept-Îles, Québec. A pool of qualified candidates could be created for similar positions with various tenures (temporary, permanent) and locations at Transport Canada, Quebec Region. Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments.

EDUCATION :
• Vocational diploma in electricity;
OR
• Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) from a recognized institution in Technical Electrical Engineering or electrodynamic, industrial electronics technology, or in instrumentation and controls.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
• Hold a valid certificate as an electrician issued by Emploi-Québec (former license C);
OR
• Hold a valid certificate issued by the Commission de la Construction du Québec (CCQ).
EXPERIENCE :
• Experience in industrial and/or institutional electrical distribution networks.
• Experience as an electrician in preventive maintenance, problem diagnosis, repair, modification of electrical installations, repair and modification of instrument systems, controls and automation.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS :
EXPERIENCE :
• Experience in industrial and/or institutional electrical distribution networks of medium voltage.
• Experience working in an airport environment.
• Experience in series circuits, aerodrome light marking.
• Experience in overseeing subcontractors during the performance of minor work.
KNOWLEDGE :
Knowledge of generators and control systems.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIOIN :
• Hold a valid firearms licence.
• Hold a restricted radiotelephone operator certificate.
• Hold an Airport Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP).

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS :

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
• Successfully complete the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (course and exam) in order to obtain a firearms license.
• Successfully complete the restricted radio-telephone test.
• Successfully complete the exam in order to obtain an airport Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP).
