Transport Canada’s Aircraft Services Directorate is seeking a DASH 8 FIXED WING TRAINING PILOT who is motivated and passionate about their work – people just like you!

Education:
ED : A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Occupational Certification
OC1: Possession of a valid Airline Transportation Licence (ATPL) Aeroplane Category with Group 1 Instrument Rating.
Occupational Certification
OC2: Possession of a valid Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator Certificate (endorsed aeronautical)
Experience
EX1 : Minimum of 3000 hours flying experience.
EX2: Minimum 1500 hours as pilot-in-command of multiengine airplanes.
EX3: Minimum 300 hours instrument flight time (150 hours must be actual).
EX4: Experience as a training pilot or flight instructor.
EX5: Experience as pilot in command of a Dash 8 aircraft.
Asset Education:
AED1 : Diploma or Degree with aviation relevance
Asset Experience:
AEX1: Instructor experience in Level C or Level D flight simulators.
AEX2: Experience as an approved check pilot (ACP), a designated pilot examiner (PE) or Military equivalent whose duties include the evaluation of pilot competencies.
AEX3: Experience as flight crew in the Canadian Arctic.
AEX4: Experience with deployments and remote operations away from a main base for extended periods of at least one week.
AEX5: Experience flying aircraft on low-level surveillance/survey/patrol operations.

Knowledge:
K1 : Knowledge of aircraft systems, performance, and limitations
K2 : Knowledge of purpose and legislative framework for the conduct of Transport Canada National Aerial Surveillance Program (NASP) reconnaissance flights
K3: Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards governing operation of Fixed Wing Aircraft under subpart 702-Aerial Work
Abilities:
A1 : Ability to communicate effectively orally

A3: Ability to plan, organize, and conduct lesson plans in classroom.

Candidates must be:
OCE1: Willing to work irregular hours which include evening and night operations,
OCE2: Willing and able to travel and work overtime as tasked,
OCE3: Willing and able to undertake Underwater Emergency Egress Training, and
OCE4: Willing and able to work overtime on short notice,
Further conditions of employment include:
OCE5: Possess and maintain a valid Canadian passport.
OCE6: Maintain a valid ATPL and valid PPC on type.
OCE7: Willing and able to work in an aviation environment (ie., noise, fumes, hazards)
OCE8: Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
