Intent of the process

This process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, and create a pool of qualified candidates. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police(i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

• Extensive* and recent** experience*** in the electronics engineering technology field, preferably with emphasis on security systems and digital Closed-Circuit Video Equipment (CCVE).
• Extensive* and recent** experience*** operating electronic test equipment and with test procedures in both analog and digital systems.
• Recent** experience*** in system performance analysis, problem analysis and documentation.
• Experience*** in technical project management and development of specifications.

* “Extensive” refers to the depth and breadth of relevant experience gained through the sustained fulfilment of key responsibilities for a period of five (5) or more years.
** "Recent" means within the previous five (5) year period.
*** “Experience” refers to the depth and breadth of relevant experience gained through the sustained fulfilment of key responsibilities for a period of one (1) year.

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing

• Significant**** experience** in the maintenance and installation of protective security equipment.
• Experience** in physical security using computerized access control and intrusion detection systems.
