In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

Experience in data entry using spreadsheet, word processing, or database software.

Recent* and Significant** experience providing Community Health or Primary Care nursing services.

Recent* is defined as within the last five years
Significant** is defined as at least two years experience with the candidate performing complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations in one or more of the following areas:

1. Community Health (Public Health and Home and Community Care)
2. Primary Care
3. Urgent or Emergency Care
4. Acute or Intensive Care

Recent* and Significant***experience providing advice/guidance to management on patient safety
procedures.

Recent* is defined as within the last five years
Significant*** is defined as a minimum of two years experience with the candidate performing complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to complete certification and ongoing certification relevant to the position, including Canadian Patient Safety Officer Course, Becoming a Patient Safety Trainer.

Conditions of employment

• Valid driver's licence or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver's license

• Medical Clearance:

o Agree to undertake a Category 3 pre-placement periodic health evaluation in accordance with Appendix A of the Occupational Health Evaluation Standard Schedule (http://www.tbs- sct.gc.ca/pol/doc-eng.aspx?id=12561&section=HTML).
o For persons proposed for relocation to an isolated post/remote location and who have dependents: a valid Category 1 medical clearance for their dependent(s) in accordance with section 4.2 of the Isolated Post and Government Housing Directive (http://www.njc-cnm.gc.ca/directive/index.php?
hl=1&lang=eng&merge=3&did=4&vid=12&pv=1)
o For persons proposed for relocation to an isolated post/remote location and who have dependents: consent to their dependent(s) to undertake a Category 1 periodic health evaluation in accordance with Appendix A of the Occupational Health Evaluation Standard Schedule (http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pol/doc-eng.aspx?id=12561&section=HTML).

• Willingness and ability to travel in small aircraft, off road vehicles and by boat in varied weather conditions to communities in remote and isolated areas

• Willingness and ability to work in a rigorous, diverse and often demanding work environment

• May be required to be temporarily reassigned to other communities as operationally required

• Willingness and ability to perform on call duties, work after hours, and on weekends as required

• Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position

• Current valid registration as a Registered Nurse and a member in good standing in the province where the position is located.
