The contaminated Sites team serves all of the properties occupied by the Department of Defence in Quebec; The main facilities are in Quebec, Monteregie and Montréal regions. As an environmental agent of contaminated sites you will have to manage projects (characterization, restoration, risk management) on contaminated, or potentially contaminated sites, currently occupied by the Department of National Defence. You will also have to conduct environmental studies on properties that the department wants to acquire or divest. Project management includes quotation writing, costing, coordination for contracting, budget tracking, field visits and the revision of deliverables. Our service has a georeferenced environmental database operated via ArcGIS; This work tool allows to give quick and accurate environmental advice.

The Environment section is part of the resource Conservation Service that belongs to the support Group of the 2nd Canadian Army Division.

EDUCATION:
(E1) A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, biology, environmental science, geological engineering, environmental engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering or other scientific field relevant to this vacancy.
EXPERIENCE
(EX1) Recent and significant experience ** in contaminated sites management (assessment studies, remediation, risk management/analysis, hydrogeological analysis).
(EX2) Recent and significant experience ** in administrative management of environmental projects (cost evaluation, technical specifications, budget management).
(EX3) Recent and significant experience ** in the provision of professional advice related to environmental issues.
** Recent and significant experience : 3 years in the last 5 years.

The immediate need is to staff one Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB position. A pool of partially and/or fully qualified candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements (French Essential, Bilingual) and profiles.

(K1) Knowledge of practices for environmental assessment (soil/water) , risk management/analysis and remediation of contaminated sites.
(K2) Knowledge of major federal and provincial (Quebec) laws related to environmental protection and contaminated sites management.
ABILITY

(OEX1) Field experience in assessment works such as trenches, drilling, observation wells installation.
KNOWLEDGE:
(OK1) General knowledge of the federal approach to contaminated sites.
(OK2) Knowledge of ArcGIS software and/or experience with map making and database queries.
