Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one EL-08 indeterminate position within the Department of National Defence (DND). A pool of qualified candidates may be established.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

Graduation from a recognized college or university with specialization in electrical/electronic engineering or an acceptable combinations of education training and /or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

E1: Significant experience managing the installation and maintenance of Video-Audio-Data hardware systems;

E2: Significant and recent experience applying accounting principles, human resources and financial management;

E3: Recent experience in providing advice to senior management and engaging stakeholders at all levels of project process; and,

E4: Recent experience in leading teams and/or projects.

* Significant experience: More than 3 years.
** Recent experience: within last 3 of the last 5 years.

ASSET EDUCATION:

AEDU1: Special or advanced training or certification within the area of Video-Audio-Data hardware systems.

AEDU2: Expenditure Management Course: Sections 32, 33 and 34 of the FAA

AEDU3: Green Procurement (C215)

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE:

AE1: Recent experience working within DND.

K1: Knowledge of current Video-Audio-Data standards and technology;

K2: Knowledge of electrical/electronic theory and practices;

K4: Knowledge of project management and life-cycle materiel management principles;

A1: Ability to supervise and direct the work of several subordinate teams of personnel;

A2: Ability to work under severe pressure and meet established deadlines;

A3: Ability to manage the human, financial and materiel resources of a multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams;

A4: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and,

A5: Ability to analyse and solve technical problems.

ASSET KNOWLEDGE:

AK1: Knowledge of DND/CF mandate, operations and priorities, and their support requirements.

AK2: Knowledge of DND procurement system.

AK3: Knowledge of Canadian Forces Supply System.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Willing and able to participate in military exercises under adverse climatic conditions for the purposes of conducting or co-ordinating technical evaluations.

Must be able to engage in continuing studies to maintain/update the professional skills required for the position.

Travel: International travel, travel to contractor facilities, travel to military installations to deployed and garrison field units, military workshops, repair depots, and sometimes on/in military vehicles, ships and aircraft.
