The immediate need is to staff one position with a language requirement of bilingual non-imperative CBC/CBC on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, etc.), linguistic requirements (bilingual imperative, bilingual non-imperative, English or French essential, etc.), linguistic profiles (CBC/CBC, BBB/BBB, etc.) and/or security requirements (reliability, secret, etc.) within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

EDUCATION
- A degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution in law (B.C.L., LL.L., LL.B. or J.D.), commerce, business administration, finance, accounting or economics or another field relevant to the position.
*The term "degree" refers to a baccalaureate or a higher level degree, as established by educational authorities
EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years of significant** and recent*** individual or combined experience in the following:
a) applying, interpreting, or providing advice on one or more of the following statutes administered by OSFI: the Bank Act, Insurance Companies Act, or Trust and Loan Companies Act
b) the prudential supervision of federally regulated financial institutions
c) the development or administration of Canada’s Federal financial services sector’s legislative framework
d) working in lower or upper middle management, or senior management****, in the Canadian financial services industry and/or for an organization that carries out the prudential regulation of financial service entities
- At least 3 years of significant** and recent*** experience in managing a team of professionals. (Examples of managing a team of professionals may include: assigning work, managing performance, developing resourcing plans, determining needs and approving training, etc. Applicants must indicate the number of staff they supervised and the duration)
**Significant is defined as the breadth and complexity of experience that would normally be acquired where the experience was directly a part of the regular work duties of the candidate
*** Recent is defined as experience acquired in the 10 years prior to the application for the current position
**** Senior management is defined as the most senior staff of an organization or business, including the heads of various divisions or departments led by the chief executive; upper middle management is defined as the staff that reports directly to senior management; lower middle management is defined as the staff that reports directly to upper middle management

OSFI's Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five minute walk from the Transitway and from the nearest STO stop.
As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
