Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) wants YOU to join our team! As the Inuit Employment Advisor you will work within ECCC and with other federal departments and agencies operating in Nunavut to help increase Inuit employment in Nunavut.

ECCC is the lead federal department for a wide range of environmental issues. Here, you will be an important part in helping ECCC fulfill its mission to ensure that Canadians have a safe, clean and sustainable environment today, tomorrow and well into the future. This position is located in Iqaluit, Nunavut. The incumbent will be a member of the Human Resources Branch, tasked with delivering programs and activities for the department as prescribed under Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement with an overall objective of reaching a representative workforce.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff the AS-05 Inuit Employment Advisor position on an indeterminate basis.

This process may also be used to staff similar or identical positions with various tenures (such as indeterminate, term or acting period) within federal departments and agencies located in the Nunavut Region.

A high school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience coordinating and leading meetings that include individuals from internal or external partners (stakeholders)
Experience in providing advice and information to the public and/or clients
Experience in providing advice and recommendations to management (Manager level and above)
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment, specifically as it relates to Inuit (culture and values) and non-Inuit populations

Experience working in a Northern environment
