You must clearly demonstrate in your answers to the screening questions HOW you meet the essential education and experience and any applicable asset experience factors listed.

• Provide interpretation, information and functional guidance and direction to program officers on processes, compliance and monitoring;
• Play a key role in supporting the Unit Manager for planning, quality assurance and coordination of the program delivery;
• Analyze and resolve issues related to compliance and regulatory requirements;
• Represent the Program in committees, project teams, working groups, initiatives, investigations and projects;
• Assess the impact of new and revised policies and the effect on service delivery;
• Prepare briefings and reports on program activities and issues;
• Plan, coordinate and implement training and mentoring for new and existing staff; Provide input into training plans developed by regional and national program for new/updated regulations, policies and guidelines;
• Conduct complex inspections and investigations related to the enforcement of legislation (as needed).

The Eastern Region office of the Tobacco and Vaping Compliance and Enforcement Program is located at the Guy-Favreau Complex in downtown Montreal, close to various public transit options (Subway, bus, commuter train), the Place des festivals where many major events are organized, to show venues, shopping centres and a large choice of restaurants. Within the Guy-Favreau Complex itself, you will find a gym, a pool, restaurants, a bank and many other amenities.

We currently have an opening in the Web, Social Media and Investigation unit in Montreal for an indeterminate period.
This unit’s mandate is to conduct online inspections and investigations of regulated parties to ensure compliance with the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act.
In addition to the duties listed above, the person who will take up this role will be called upon to contribute to the implementation of the online inspection program, in the drafting procedures, the selection of tools and in ensuring IT expertise throughout the development and implementation of the online inspection program.
