Work environment

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer is commonly known as Elections Canada. It is an independent, non-partisan agency that reports directly to Parliament. Our primary mandate is to be prepared to conduct a federal general election, by-election or referendum. Our mandate also includes many other activities such as administering the political financing provisions of the Act, conducting public information campaigns, carry out studies on alternative voting methods and much more.

Please take note that MOST positions within Elections Canada are located in Gatineau, Québec while some are located in Ottawa, Ontario.

Intent of the process

This inventory will be used to establish pools a partially or fully qualified candidates which could serve to staff various PM-01 group and level positions within Elections Canada. MANY OF OUR POSITIONS ARE BILINGUAL with a linguistic profile of BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, or CCC/CCC. Pools will also be established for unilingual English or French positions. Employment tenures, security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations will vary depending on the needs for the position being staffed.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions within Elections Canada with various tenures (indeterminate, various specified periods or casual employments).
