The immediate opportunity is intended to be staffed in Edmonton, AB.
A qualified pool of candidates may be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada with various tenures (Indeterminate, Acting, Term, Deployment, Assignment, Secondment) and various language requirements.

Education:
1. Successful completion of 2 years post-secondary education, or equivalent, with acceptable specialization in real property appraisal or real property assessment.
2. Position requires a valid, current professional designation. Acceptable designations include an AACI from the Appraisal Institute of Canada, an E.A. (C.App.) from the Order of Chartered Appraisers of Quebec, or an acceptable equivalent Canadian assessment designation such as AAMA (Alberta), MAAS (Saskatchewan), AAM (Manitoba), MIMA (Ontario) and RI (British Columbia).
Experience:
1. Significant* experience in valuation of complex properties or portfolios of property, including special purpose or limited market properties.
2. Experience evaluating the impacts of legislation in Canadian property taxation and assessment / valuation.
3. Experience providing strategic advice regarding complex assessment and property taxation issues.
4. Experience managing human and financial resources.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth of experience associated with full time performance of professional duties for at least five years.
Asset Qualifications:
Experience providing expert witness evidence, specifically with regard to real property valuation, assessment and taxation, at Court or Tribunal Hearings.
