The International Platform Branch within Global Affairs Canada governs and delivers resources, infrastructure, and common services enabling the delivery of the Government of Canada’s programs in 179 missions located in 106 countries. The Planning and Stewardship Bureau is responsible for the implementation and management of a Corporate Real Estate Model, and the development and implementation of global portfolio strategies. The real property portfolio comprises over 1 million square metres of office and residential space, representing over 2,400 property holdings, including many properties of high value and historic significance.
The Global Portfolio Management sector’s role :
• responsible for horizontal portfolio strategies, and the development of analytical frameworks and global portfolio planning processes;
• prepare global and regional strategies and identify priority initiatives for consultation with clients and partners for advancement to project approval.
• establish governance and strategic plans for Government of Canada program delivery abroad, involving 7,700 employees from Global Affairs Canada and 34 other federal Departments, Agencies, several Provinces, as well as co-location with allied countries.
• responsible for development of the strategies and frameworks for programs and projects, workplace 2.0 office standard policy and implementation, purchases and strategic disposals, office relocations and colocation arrangements with allied foreign governments.
Immediate need: One (1) position to be staffed on an indeterminate basis with a bilingual imperative BBB/BBB linguistic profile.
A fully or partially qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future term and indeterminate vacancies as well as to fill identical or similar positions at Global Affairs Canada with tenures that may vary according to the positions being staffed (ex. indeterminate, specified period, acting) which may have various language requirements such as Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, English or French and English essential.

Education:
- Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Candidates must always have a degree*. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
*The term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
Experience:
E1. Experience in analyzing complex** sets of data (from internal or external sources) from databases and spreadsheets;
E2. Experience in using analytics tools to create data queries, using formulas, and cross-referencing between databases;
E3. Experience in producing briefings, reports, or memos that use analytical methodologies for processing financial data and presenting options;
**“Complex Data” is defined as any data that does not fall into the traditional field structure (alpha, numeric, dates) of a relational database management system. Examples of complex data types are bills of material, word processing documents, maps, time-series, images, and video.
