A top-down screening approach may be undertaken. Applicants who meet the essential experience criteria may be ranked according to the depth and breadth of experience they possess. Only the top ranking candidates may be invited to the assessment phase of the process. A cut-off score may also be used at any stage of assessment.

AE1. Experience working at Natural Resources Canada or a science-based department or agency.
AE2. Experience in planning, developing, maintaining and coordinating the delivery of digital communications projects, campaigns or strategies.
AE3. Experience in providing strategic communications advice to managers or clients on issues and trends related to digital communications.
AE4. Recent* and significant** experience in developing web and social media content such as web pages, Twitter and LinkedIn posts and infographics.
AE5. Recent* and significant** experience in developing web or social media strategies for large-scale projects, accounts or campaigns.
AE6. Experience in managing planning and coordinating large-scale projects.
AE7. Experience supporting scientists and technical experts in the promotion of their work to multiple audiences.
AE8. Recent* and significant** experience in preparing financial statements, reports and dashboards.
AE9. Recent* and significant** experience using financial systems such as SAP.
AE10 Recent* experience in financial management and in operational planning and budgeting.
AE11 Recent* experience in the provision of administrative, financial and procurement services, including human resources.
*Recent is defined as continuously working in this area for a minimum of two years in the last five years.
**Significant is defined as occupying your duties full time or at least 80% of your duties.
