The Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) prosecutes criminal offenses under federal jurisdiction. The organization has approximately 1000 employees who each play a key role in strengthening the Canadian criminal justice system.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR...
Are you passionate about information management? Are you looking for challenging work and a rewarding career? Now is an exciting time to work in Information Management (IM) at the PPSC. We are currently in the development of our corporate IM program, building our National service delivery model, team, and have launched our GCDOCS project. We are looking for a strong leader that will move forward our IM program, continue to grow our team and lead our GCDOCS implementation. Are you up for the task?
WHERE WE ARE LOCATED...
We are located at Place Bell situated at 160 Elgin Street, an office complex in downtown Ottawa and near the Rideau Canal and the Rideau Shopping Centre. This location offers easy access to restaurants, fitness facilities, walking/running paths, and parks. We are conveniently located close to major transit routes making it easy to commute from all points across the city.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established from this process and may be used to staff similar positions at Public Prosecution Service of Canada, with varying tenures (such as indeterminate, specified period, acting, assignment/secondment), with a CBC/CBC bilingual imperative profile and with Secret security requirements. The pool may be used by other departments.

Education:
- Graduation with an acceptable degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Information Management or in a field relevant to the work to be performed OR an acceptable combination* of education, training and experience.
*An acceptable combination is defined as Secondary school graduation and ten (10) years of relevant progressively responsible professional work experience.
Experience:
- Experience developing and implementing information management policies, procedures, guidelines and processes.
- Experience leading information management projects and initiatives.
- Experience providing strategic advice or recommendations to senior management with respect to information management policy instruments.
- Experience managing financial and human resources.
Asset Qualification - Education:
- Graduation with a master's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Library and Information Science accredited by the American Library Associated (ALA) or equivalent OR graduation with a master's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Information Management.
Asset Qualification - Experience:
- Experience providing input for departmental reporting processes such as the Management Accountability Framework (MAF).
- Experience working with Electronic Document Management and Records Management Systems (examples: OpenText Content Server [GCdocs], OpenText eDOCS [RDIMS], Microsoft SharePoint, etc).
- Experience in providing advice on projects or practices to streamline operations, increase efficiencies, and improve program delivery.
- Experience leading project teams or working groups on information management or information technology related initiatives or projects (for example, implementation of GCdocs).
- Experience in managing and supervising.
- Experience in managing mail services and mailroom operations.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
