HOW TO APPLY

First, have a look at the list of criteria that are required for the job. These are listed in the poster below as essential qualifications and asset qualifications. If you are interested in applying on this job poster, you can click on the Apply online link. Only applications submitted via this portal will be accepted.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CLICK APPLY

Applicants are not required to submit a cover letter. Instead you will be asked to answer a series of questions, submit your resume and also answer screening questions which will allow you to demonstrate how you meet each of the essential qualifications that are required for the positions. See below for further instructions on the screening questions.

SCREENING QUESTIONS

During your application, you will be asked to answer screening questions. Take the time to answer the questions with as much detail and examples as possible. Be specific about projects you’ve worked on, where (occupational title, organization), when (from, to), what your role was, what the tasks involved were and the actions taken.

Clear and concrete examples are defined as illustrations in which you fully explain the actions, considerations and steps YOU completed and the final outcome/results, in order to gain the experience you are describing.

Should you only indicate the following in your responses “See my résumé”, “Example can be provided upon request”, “Yes I do”, “I have 5 years of experience in the field”, “I acquired this experience working at XYZ”, “I meet this qualification” or similar statements, your response will not be accepted.

Finally, if the examples you provide speak of experience that was acquired in a team setting, please be specific as to your exact role within this team. The selection committee will be assessing your experience and not that of your team.

Lack of concrete examples and details may result in your application being rejected. Candidates will not be solicited for incomplete or missing information.

If you encounter any problems or issues when submitting your application with the Public Service Resourcing System (PSRS) online portal, please contact the Public Service Commission (PSC) through their “Contact us” page (see “Contact us” link above). If you need to contact the PSC, please advise us to avoid any unnecessary delays in the application process.

An Asset Qualification Questionnaire (AQQ) will be administered later in the process, therefore, you are not required to demonstrate how you meet the asset experience criteria at the time of application.

All EC-03, EC-04 & EC-05 positions are currently located in Ottawa. Should these positions become available elsewhere throughout Canada, this pool may also be used to staff those positions. Applicants interested in one of the above mentioned positions elsewhere in Canada are encouraged to apply.

Please note that any information regarding this selection process is to be kept confidential. As such, all candidates will be required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement. Failure to abide by this agreement may result in the elimination of your candidacy.
