The Office of Disability Management is hiring skilled, compassionate and dedicated advisors to join their team, with positions available in the National Capital Region. As a Disability Management Advisor, you will provide expert support to employees and managers through case management services, and help create a healthy work environment for all.

Please note that the positions in the NCR are located at the Carling Campus.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff Total Health and Disability Management Advisor position(s) (bilingual imperative CBC/CBC) in the National Capital Region.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the Department of National Defence (DND) in the National Capital Region (NCR) with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, assignment, secondment, specified period) and with various security clearances specific to the position being staffed.

EDUCATION:
EDU1: Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in Social Sciences, Health Sciences or a related field specific to the position being staffed; OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EXP1: Recent and significant experience* in providing proactive case management services for complex disability management situations.
EXP2: Recent and significant experience* with disability claims or benefit management for physical and/or mental health.

NOTES:
“Recent” experience is defined as experience associated with having performed this function in the past five (5) years.
“Significant “experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of approximately three (3) years.

ASSET EDUCATION:

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
NIDMAR or other professional certification or designation related to disability management or education or training specific to best practices in disability management.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AEX1: Experience with worker’s compensation (or other third party provider) claims, appeals or mediation or adjudication processes.
AEX2: Experience in accommodation process for permanent and temporary accommodations.
AEX3: Experience working in compensation within the Federal Public Service.
