Applicants are not required to submit a cover letter. Instead, they are required to answer THE PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONS clearly demonstrating with concrete examples in how they meet the education and experience factors listed in the essential qualifications. All screening questions must be answered. It is not sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather, you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples as well as the period(s) in which you performed the functions of the positions. You will not have further opportunity to provide additional information. Providing the same answer for each qualification will result in your application being rejected. A maximum of 500 words will be accepted per screening question. Comments such as “refer to my attached resume” will not be accepted and may result in your application being rejected.
PLEASE NOTE that there are no screening questions pertaining to the asset criteria for the application process. Candidates will be solicited at a later date for this information.
We anticipate that this process will be completed by the end of February 2019. We ask that all applicants provide requested information promptly and make themselves available for assessments.
Those selected will be confirmed with short notice.
Currently, there are 2 vacant positions - one PM-4 and one PM-5. However, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting appointments, assignment, deployment, indeterminate, specified period, secondment), security requirements and conditions of employment within Health Canada. As a result of the potential and possible use of the selection process and subsequent pool by hiring managers, we encourage all employees seeking this type of opportunity to apply.
