Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions with various security requirements within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. This position may be staffed on a permanent or temporary basis (term, acting, assignment, secondment).

EDUCATION
• A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization* in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group,
OR
• Eligibility* for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified General Accountant (CGA).
*Note : The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
EXPERIENCE
• Significant* experience in the provision of advice to senior management on complex issues related to financial resource management, financial policies, financial systems, internal controls or accounting operations. (Complex refers to the quantity, diversity and impact of the decision)
• Significant experience in managing human resources, defined as the management of a minimum of 10 employees for a minimum of 3 continuous years. This includes workload distribution, manage personnel performance (attendance, quality of work, collegiality, etc.), completion of performance agreement of direct reports.
• Significant*experience in accounting or auditing operations related to revenue or accounts receivable, such as receipts, reconciliations, monitoring or write-off of accounts receivable.
• Significant* experience in managing the account payable process that includes a significant diversity of financial transaction type.
* Significant” refers to the depth, breadth and diversity of experience acquired through performing a broad range of complex activities at the team lead level or above for at least five (5) years.

EXPERIENCE ASSET
• Experience working in the public sector (federal, provincial or municipal) as a public servant, a casual worker or a consultant;
• Experience in leading or participating in business transformation and change management at the sector or departmental level;
• Experience working in an operational program, a region or in a matrix organization.
• Experience in the design and implementation of new business processes
• Experience in preparing financial briefing notes for senior management.
