A secondary school diploma and completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology or the PSC approved alternative. The PSC approved alternative is an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Designing and developing modifications to electronic equipment, instrumentation, software and devices.
• Developing working prototypes, stand-alone instruments or computer interfaces from circuit designs.
• Operation and maintenance of advanced analog and digital test and measurement devices.
• Maintenance and repair of a variety of electronic devices.
• Producing reports and documentation.
• Testing, evaluating, monitoring and maintaining electronic equipment, apparatus and/or instrumentation. Documentation and presentation of the results.
• Advising and instructing staff on equipment/system use
• Presenting solutions and test results.
• Installing equipment, components and systems in a variety of locations.
• Making operational decisions to ensure the satisfactory operation of the equipment/ system.
• Procuring electronic components and related supplies for development or repair.
• Working of computers, standard operating systems.
• Reading, documenting, and modifying code in Assembler, C, LabView and/or programmable logic.
• Participating in technical projects.
