Do you want to be at the forefront of forest science? Join the dynamic team of the Laurentian Forestry Center (LFC). With some 125 employees, including 27 researchers, LFC is one of five research centers of the Canadian Forest Service of Natural Resources Canada. The LFC is located on the campus of Laval University, in Quebec City, near green spaces, restaurants and shops. Social life at LFC is active and friendly. The Project Services Manager is the link between the researchers, the technical team responsible for carrying out the projects in the field, in greenhouses or in the laboratory and the LFC management. Our immediate need is to staff a bilingual imperative (BBB/BBB) indeterminate position in Quebec City (Quebec).
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff other positions in Natural Resources Canada for various durations (determinate or indeterminate) and various requirements and linguistic profiles (English or French essential, English essential, French essential, bilingual imperative and non imperative; BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.) with various work conditions and work locations.

Your résumé.
Graduation with a technical diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Forest Technology or some other technical diploma relevant to the position. Applicants who do not have a technical diploma but have a post-secondary diploma and six years of experience in a technician position will be considered.
Significant experience* in planning, organizing and setting up forestry field experiments.
Experience in planning and coordinating financial and material resources.
Experience in supervising or coordinating technical support employees.
Experience in the analysis, management and presentation (written, numerical, graphic and oral) of data.
Experience in providing technical recommendations to scientists or managers.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breath of experience which would be normally acquired with at least 5 years of experience.

Knowledge of methods to establish experimental designs in forestry in the field or in controlled (e.g. growth chamber) or semi-controlled conditions (e.g. greenhouse).
Knowledge of sampling and measurement methods used in forestry research.

Experience as a technical adviser to scientists in forestry, entomology, pathology, dendrology or genomics.

NB: The candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, these criteria may be a deciding factor in choosing the candidate to be appointed.
