Duties

• Responsible for a portfolio of clients from development to project completion and closure including the evaluation of proposal, monitoring contract performance, authorizing payments and preparing amendments when necessary and working with the client throughout the life of the file to ensure the success of the project.
• Provides a variety of information to clients regarding economic development programs offered by others and information relating to market development, trade, innovation, quality, research and development, tourism strategies, sector development, business and financial management.
• Conducts research and prepares briefing notes or briefing materials; participates on committees pertaining to policies and work processes improvements; and represents the Agency when attending seminars, conferences, trade shows and economic missions.
• Provides advice and guidance to community economic development organizations and SMEs in the preparation of projects or initiatives.

Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory staffing process to establish a pool of candidates, in Charlottetown, that will be used to staff identical or similar positions of various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, deployment, assignment and secondment).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in a relevant area of study (such as Business, Economics, Public Administration) OR an acceptable combination of a university degree and significant relevant experience.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Recent and significant experience* in monitoring and managing contract performance
- Recent and significant experience* in project development including planning, evaluation and monitoring
- Recent and significant experience* in working in a partnership role with officials from other federal departments, provincial/municipal governments, private sector or non-government organizations
- Recent and significant experience* in assessing at least 2 of the following: business plans, marketing plans, strategic plans or financial statements

* Recent and significant is defined as the depth and breadth associated with the performance of duties normally acquired over a period of approximately two years, within the last five years.

- Experience working with community and/or industry associations and/or sectors such as tourism, ITC, bioscience, agri-food etc.
- Experience in social media marketing i.e., developing, implementing, and/or measuring social media campaigns on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.
- Experience in preparing spreadsheets, presentations and briefing materials for management.
- Experience in the delivery of financial assistance programs.

- Willingness and ability to travel, as required.
- Willingness and ability to work outside working hours, including evenings and weekends, with minimal notice.

Security level will be based on the position to be staffed (Reliability or Secret security clearance).
