Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
The intent of this process is to fill 1 full-time permanent position in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Candidates applying from outside of Yellowknife must be willing to relocate.
The salary range for this position is: $112,300 to $132,100. In addition, the selected candidate will also be entitled to:
- A northern isolated post allowance ranging from $10,297 per year for a single person, up to $18,211 per year for an employee with dependents.
- Vacation travel assistance of approximately $1,000 per year for the employee, and an additional $1,000 per year for each eligible dependent.

Established in August 2009, the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) is the only federal department with an exclusive mandate for the North, and has regional offices in each of the three territories, along with a liaison office in Ottawa.
CanNor's vision is to develop a strong, diversified, sustainable and dynamic economy for all northerners and Indigenous peoples across Canada's three Territories. As the smallest of the Government of Canada’s five regional development agencies (less than 100 staff in total), CanNor provides a unique opportunity for individuals looking to be part of a small but mighty organization that leverages its nimbleness to tackle some serious, high-profile socio-economic issues. As a Regional Director within CanNor’s Operations sector, the selected candidate will have an opportunity to make a real difference in the economic and social wellbeing of northern residents; by working directly with communities and businesses, and witnessing first-hand the results of the government’s investments!
The intent of this process is to fill 1 full-time permanent position in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. A pool of qualified candidates may also be established, and may be used to fill similar positions, with varying tenures, in any of CanNor’s northern offices (Iqaluit, Nunavut; Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; and Whitehorse, Yukon).

EDUCATION:
Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
EXPERIENCES:
E1: Significant* experience in the development and implementation of social, economic or business development policies or programs.
E2: Significant* experience in providing advice to senior management** on complex*** issues.
E3: Experience in consulting, negotiating or building strategic partnerships with officials in one or more of the following: private or not-for-profit sectors; First Nations, Métis or Inuit communities; government organizations.
E4: Significant* experience in managing human**** and financial***** resources.

* "Significant experience" is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various related activities which are normally acquired over a period of approximately 2 years.
** "Senior" refers to positions such as: Director General, Vice-President, President, Board Chair, or Executive Director.
*** "Complex" issues are issues with at least 3 of the following characteristics: multidimensional, horizontal, sensitive, confidential, affecting many partners or stakeholders, precedent setting or having a major impact on the program delivery for the public service.
