Intent of the process

POSITION TO BE FILLED IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION. A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions across Canada with various language requirements and various security requirements. These positions may be staffed on an indeterminate or temporary basis.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in environmental engineering, mining engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, geological engineering, or some other accredited engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Significant and recent* experience in project management on engineering projects.

Experience in providing advice to management** on engineering projects.

Experience evaluating, reviewing, and reporting on engineering projects.

*Significant and recent experience is defined as minimum of five (5) years’ experience acquired within the last ten (10) years.

** Management is defined as manager level and above.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
(Not essential, but preference may be given to candidates who possess asset qualifications)

Current Certification as a professional engineer in Canada.

Project Management Institute Certification.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in mine site remediation projects.

Experience in providing engineering advice to management** on Major Capital Projects***.

Experience in project cost estimation.

Experience in engineering projects in Northern Canada.

Experience in developing and maintaining project schedules.

** Management is defined as manager level and above.

*** Major Capital Projects are defined as project with budget of at least $100 million.
