WHAT DOES SPEED STAFFING MEAN?
This job posting is part of a speed staffing initiative. What does this mean? Candidates who pass the preliminary stages will be invited to the speed staffing event on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Conditional offers will be made on the spot! Other candidates will be invited at a later date for future opportunities. We look forward to meeting you!
OUR OPPORTUNITY
In order to continue to increase the HR talent capacity of the Directorate, HRSD wants to appoint HR Advisors in organizational design and job evaluation at the PE-01 level. These new recruits will begin their training and development through the Health Canada PE Development Program (PEDP).
If you are selected, upon appointment, you will be integrated into the Health Canada PE Development Program (PEDP) and will be trained to meet the Essential competencies for the PE Occupational Group established by the Treasury Board Secretariat. In addition, you will be trained to become an expert on job evaluation in order to determine salary scales appropriate to duties, by analyzing tasks and responsibilities, writing evaluation reports and participating in job evaluation committees. You will also be trained to support managers in establishing and reviewing their organizational structures, as well as in the development and selection of job descriptions. Once you have completed your training, you will be able to apply for a job evaluation accreditation issued by the Treasury Board Secretariat, which is transferable to the various federal departments of the federal public service.
The Health Canada PE Development Program (PEDP) was introduced to bring new human resource professionals to our organization and retain those currently employed in the organization by providing opportunities for development and career advancement in various areas of human resources.
Duration of the program:
The program provides trainees with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to move from the PE-01 level to the PE-03 level in approximately 36 months. This duration varies according to the level of experience of the participants and their individual performance against the assessment of skills.
Our main goal is to find people with the potential to learn and / or develop and excel in the field of human resources management in the federal public service. This selection process will focus on the assessment of competencies. To assess competencies, we will use the simplified approach: Candidates will go through pre-screening. Candidates who meet the education and experience requirements may be required to do a written exam. Subsequently, successful candidates will be invited for an interview; references will be checked at the very end of the process.
About us:
Several factors contribute to Health Canada being a great place to work; whether it's through career opportunities or social benefits. In fact, Health Canada has been selected from hundreds of organizations in Canada as the best employer in the National Capital Region, as the best employer for young people and as the best employer for diversity in 2017. If you join we will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and committed team.
Conditional job offers will be presented to some candidates to staff PE-01 positions during the accelerated recruitment activity of November 3, 2018.
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and will be used to make appointments to PE-01 positions of varying length (term, indeterminate, acting, assignment, secondment, transfer), whose language requirements vary and whose workplaces vary at Health Canada. Once appointed at the PE-01 level, candidates will be integrated into the Health Canada PE Development Program (PEDP), which will be used to develop and promote them at the PE-02 and PE-03 levels.
