EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Recent* experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management on complex IM/IT issues.

Recent* and significant** experience managing and delivering complex IM/IT projects in collaboration with key stakeholders from the federal government or private sector organizations.

Recent* and significant** experience in the development and implementation of strategies and operational plans for delivery of information technology IM/IT services.

Experience in managing human and financial resources.

*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five years.

**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience associated with being accountable and having performed a broad range of complex related activities, which is normally acquired over a period of at least three consecutive years.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of current trends, emerging issues and government policies affecting the use of IM/IT within the Government of Canada.

Knowledge of Government of Canada IM/IT legislation, strategies or policies.

Knowledge of Government of Canada procurement and contracting mechanisms, processes, policies, and guidelines related to IM/IT services or resources.

ASSET - EXPERIENCE
Experience managing the delivery of one or more of the following specialized IT services: IT Enterprise Architecture, IT Security, Database and Hosting Services, Testing/System Integration, Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption planning.

Experience in developing and managing web services (Intranet and Internet).

Experience in implementing GCDOCS.

6. Various assessment tools may be used in this selection process, such as a written examination, an interview, reference checks, etc.

7. In order to meet our organizational objectives in support of a diversified workforce, a selection may be made from among qualified candidates who self-declared as being an Indigenous person or from a visible minority group.

8. Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent may be considered first for deployment. If no deployment is made, candidates from other groups and levels will be considered in the advertised appointment process.

9. Top-down selection may be applied; a cut-off score may be established after all
scores are received. Random selection may be used at any time during the process to
identify which applicants will be further assessed.

10. You must provide a copy of your 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 performance assessment with your application if applicable.
