Intent of the process

Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff indeterminately, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (indeterminate or determinate), security requirements and conditions of employment within CSC. EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma or successful completion of a provincially/territorially approved secondary school equivalency test, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing clerical or administrative support services* in a management, business or operational environment.

Experience developing and formatting Microsoft (MS) Word and Excel documents.

*Administrative support services may include tasks such as managing the daily schedule of another person, planning or coordinating meetings, preparing or coordinating incoming or outgoing correspondence, electronic and paper record systems, drafting minutes, etc

EDUCATION
Post secondary education (diploma, degree or certificate) related to business administration support services.

Timing of Process:

We anticipate that the initial screening of applications will be completed by October 8, 2018. Candidates will be contacted between October 9 to 12, 2018 to advise when a written exam will be administered. The written exam will consist of a series of multiple choice questions that will assess the ability to format and modify MS Word and Excel documents AND ability to apply good record management practices in hard-copy and electronic formats AND judgement. The assessment board may proceed with a top-down approach meaning only those that score in the highest percentile will proceed to the next phase of the process.

Candidates that are selected to proceed after the written exam phase will be sent a document that will require providing information on how they meet the asset qualifications (not all will need to be met) and complete a self-assessment document related to the Personal Suitability criteria indicated in this poster. The self-assessment instructions will include the necessary details if you proceed to this phase and any information you provide must be verifiable by a current or previous manager/supervisor.

Self-assessment may be requested.

Reference checks may be sought.

An interview may be administered.

A test may be administered.

You must provide proof of your education credentials.
