You must submit a complete application, consisting of a covering letter which clearly demonstrates how you meet the education AND experience criteria listed in the essential AND asset qualifications (if applicable) and a résumé which supports the covering letter.
In your cover letter, you must use each individual criterion of education and experience criteria and any of the assets qualifications that you possess as a HEADER and then using concrete examples write one or two paragraphs per individual criterion demonstrating in clear and precise detail how you meet the qualifications required.
It is not sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples.
The covering letter will be used as the primary tool in the screening process and the résumé will only be used to substantiate the information provided. Please note that point form, “copy and paste" from your resume and comments such “refer to my attached resume” will NOT be accepted.

The intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate position Bilingual Imperative CCC/CCC in Ottawa.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions of various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, secondment, assignment or deployments) within the Department of Justice.

EDUCATION:
• ED1 - A secondary school diploma or employer approved alternatives.
EXPERIENCE:
• EX1- Significant* and recent ** experience in providing strategic advice and guidance to management on issues related to official languages legislation, policies, guidelines and/or programs;
• EX2- Experience in developing and implementing an official languages programs, policies proposal and/or directives;
• EX3- Significant* experience in preparing analysis, writing reports and briefing materials (e.g. correspondence, briefing notes);
• EX4- Significant* experience in developing and making presentations.
* Significant experience will be evaluated on the basis of complexity and diversity of work handled, and level of autonomy demonstrated.
** Recent experience is defined, as within the last 5 years of work.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in using PeopleSoft to record information such as Language Test Results; to look up language profile of incumbents, to look up expiry of test results, to ensure accuracy of data in the HR database.

KNOWLEDGE:
• K1 - Knowledge of the legislations, regulations and policies governing Official languages in the Public Service of Canada;
• K2 - Knowledge of the priorities of the Government of Canada as they relate to Official Languages.
