Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate AS-04 position at CanmetENERGY-Ottawa.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar AS-04 positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative), various language requirements and profiles (Bilingual (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.)), various security requirements (reliability, secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

The pool may also be used to staff similar AS-04 positions at CanmetENERGY-Varennes and/or CanmetMATERIALS in Hamilton.

Information you must provide

Your résumé.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of post-secondary education in a field related to the duties of the position, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience in providing advice, guidance and recommendations to various employees and management, in an Occupational Health and Safety Advisor role.

Experience in developing Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures or guidelines.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in biosafety, environmental health, or another science relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Certification or designation in OHS discipline (such as CRSP, CHSC).

Experience in developing and delivering health and safety training programs.
Experience in conducting work place investigations or inspections or audits.
