The CGC is a significant part of Canada’s dynamic and diverse agricultural sector. We regulate grain handling in Canada, set grain standards and conduct research on grain. At the CGC, we strive to live our values of excellence, integrity, respect and accountability.
Our office is located at 303 Main Street in downtown Winnipeg, close to countless amenities found at Winnipeg Square, the Forks, St. Boniface and the Exchange district. This process will be used to staff one full time term position.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used for similar indeterminate, specified period employment, acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.

Education:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in agricultural economics, agribusiness, economics, sociology, evaluation or statistics.
Notes: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
- Experience preparing research and analysis in one or more of the following areas:
Quantitative research, Qualitative research, Policy analysis, Statistical analysis, Economic analysis, Market analysis, Program Evaluation
- Experience reporting and presenting research, analysis, or evaluation findings.
- Experience participating on projects and/or working groups.
Education:
- Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized university with specialization in agricultural economics, economics, or statistics. The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization.
- Specialization in Agricultural Economics.
Experience:
- Experience working with external stakeholders (e.g., non-government organizations, provinces, other departments, etc.) as it relates to field of work.
- Experience conducting or participating in program evaluations.
