The RCMP has more than 27,000 employees and provides municipal and provincial services in eight provinces (excludes Ontario and Quebec) and all three territories, as well as federal policing services across the country.
We are recruiting over 1,000 cadets per year to meet increased demands for police services across the country. This is a very exciting time for the RCMP and we are searching for highly motivated and committed people to join our team!
To support the recruiting initiative, the National Recruiting Health Services (NRHS) office was created in 2016 to assist with the medical and psychological screening of police applicants. We are currently seeking to hire a second psychologist to join our team to assist with the psychological screening of police applicants. Your primary role will be to help screen police applicants and on occasion there may be a need to replace divisional psychologist while they are on leave. You will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team of health professionals (nurses, psychologists, physicians) and support staff located at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario. As well, you will work closely with a cadre health professionals (nurses, psychologists, physicians) from our 10 divisional health services offices across the country.

Our office is located at 73 Leikin Dr in Ottawa, Ontario (Barrhaven). We offer complimentary parking, convenient access to bus routes immediately outside of the building and free access to on-site and state of the art fitness training facilities

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and an RCMP Top Secret security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.
