Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various employment types and tenures (indeterminate, specified period or acting appointment, deployment, assignment, secondment). Achieving a representative workforce has been identified as an organizational need in the merit criteria may apply in the appointment process

Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent may considered for deployment. If no deployment is made, applicants from other groups and levels will be considered in the advertised appointment process.

Applicants who are entitled to a priority for appointment are encouraged to indicate this, along with their priority type, in their covering letter, résumé and/or application form.

Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to a position, however, a person may be appointed to a position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs. Meeting these criteria is nonetheless desirable and may be a deciding factor for the staffing of some positions.

FAILURE TO CLEARLY DEMONSTRATE HOW YOU MEET THE ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (Education and Experience) WILL RESULT IN THE REJECTION OF YOUR APPLICATION. APPLICANTS WILL NOT BE SOLICITED FOR INCOMPLETE OR POSSIBLE MISSING INFORMATION.

Candidates will be asked to provide proof of their education credentials and proof of citizenship at the assessment stage of this process. Failure to do so may result in your application not being considered further in the selection process.

For this selection process, it is our intention to communicate with candidates VIA E-MAIL and/or PSRS for screening and assessment purposes; this will include communication of screening results and invitations to written tests and interviews. To that end, candidates must include a valid e-mail address in their application. IT IS THE CANDIDATE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THIS ADDRESS IS FUNCTIONAL AND THAT IT ACCEPTS MESSAGES FROM UNKNOWN USERS (some e-mail systems block these types of e-mail). IT IS ALSO THE CANDIDATE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE ACCURATE CONTACT INFORMATION IS PROVIDED AND UPDATED AS REQUIRED.

Preference in appointment may be given to employees who have been, or will be, impacted by work force adjustment and/or realignment of work.

When answering the screening questions you must provide concrete and detailed examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the qualification. We can’t make any assumptions about your experience. Simply saying you have the required qualifications or listing your current duties is not enough. Instead, provide concrete and detailed examples that clearly explain where, when, and how you gained the experience. We’ll only use your résumé as a secondary source of information. The breadth and depth of experience may be considered during screening, assessment and/or selection of candidates.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order.

Information on the preference to veterans

We thank all those who apply. Only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
