Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) is seeking candidates for Defence Scientist positions in cyber analytics and computer network operations. Defence Scientists apply their problem-solving skills to provide science and technology (S&T) tools, techniques, and advice to support the needs of the Canadian Armed Forces. Successful candidates will be responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, executing, and documenting research and development (R&D) work. Additional duties include proposing and managing R&D contracts with industry, collaborating with academia and national partners, and representing Canada and DRDC on international working groups and at conferences.

The initial intent of this process is to offer two indeterminate positions and one term position.

• Experience in at least one the following fields: 1) computer networking; 2) cyber security; 3) artificial intelligence or reasoning systems.

In accordance with the DS Pay Plan, both the DS level and salary are based on the individual’s current state of professional development. Successful candidates who are not currently in the DS group will be appointed to the DS level commensurate with their current state of professional development, and at a salary that is in accordance with the Treasury Board Terms and Conditions of Employment Policy.
