Duties

This position reports to the Manager of Finance, and supports the financial management and accounting functions of the Agency. Duties will include assisting with budgeting, forecasting, accounting and development and implementation of controls and policies in support of the Agency’s execution of its mandate.

Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory process.

A pool of candidates will be created and will be used to staff similar temporary (determinate, assignment, secondment, acting) or permanent (indeterminate, deployment) positions.

Education:

Completion of a post-secondary diploma in a field related to the position, such as business administration.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

• Experience in providing accounting and financial support services such reconciling and analyzing accounts, preparing journal entries, and generating financial reports.
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel or similar software in developing or designing financial reports or schedules.

*Experience is defined as engagement in the performance of these duties normally associated with a minimum period of one year.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Education:

Specialization in accounting.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

• Experience applying financial policies, procedures, and standards, and providing advice to staff on their application.
• Experience in extracting and compiling information from various sources for the use of others.
• Experience working with a financial management system.

*Experience is defined as engagement in the performance of these duties normally associated with a minimum period of one year.
