A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT CFHA...
As a Special Operating Agency reporting to the Department of National Defence (DND), CFHA contributes to the quality of life of CAF members and their families through the provision of housing services, and through the responsible and sustainable management of the Department’s housing infrastructure.

We are a team of 300 federal public servants who work hard to meet the needs of the Canadian Armed Forces families living in DND housing.

Please note that we are not moving to the DND Carling Campus, and currently have free parking. The CFHA Head Office is a 5 minute drive from the Walkley or Hunt Club exits on the 417. Our office is located at 2171 Thurston Drive, Ottawa.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC.

A bilingual imperative pool (BBB/BBB and/or CBC/CBC and/or CCC/CCC) may be established to meet the future needs of the organization. The Department of National Defence may also use this pool to staff their needs.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Note:
1. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

Degree equivalency

-Significant* experience in providing strategic advice to colleagues, clients and senior management in the field of communications.
-Significant* experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and plans.
-Significant* experience in supporting the planning of events or corporate projects, implementing all communication elements.
-Significant* experience in developing and editing a variety of communication products such as: speaking notes/speeches, factsheets, news releases, media responses, web content, etc.
-Experience in using social media to implement communications activities in a professional setting.

*Significant is defined as a minimum of 3 years of continuous strategic communications experience in the last 5 years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

-University or college degree in a field related to communications.

Degree equivalency

-Experience in managing and coordinating web communication or social media projects for the Government of Canada.
-Experience in dealing with media (reporters).
-Experience in the marketing of communication products.
-Experience in supervising the work of students, contractors or casual employees.
-Experience in the use of graphic design software, specifically, Adobe Creative Suites and Web design software.
-Experience in video production using video editing software.

-Knowledge of the Policy on Communications and Federal Identity and the Directive on the Management of Communications of the Government of Canada.

-Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
-Ability to communicate effectively orally.
-Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
