You must clearly demonstrate in your application, via the screening questions, how you meet each of the essential (education and experience).
When responding to the screening questions, please be sure to provide comprehensive examples from your work experience that clearly demonstrate how you meet the identified education and experience criteria. Your answer should clearly identify your role in the noted example. A job title alone does not demonstrate that you have the requisite level of experience, so be sure to explain the relevant responsibilities and/or actions that you took. Failure to complete the questionnaire or failure to provide sufficient details to the screening questions related to the essential education and experience, you will be eliminated from this process.
REFERENCES: Please also provide the name of three (3) references (with email address and phone number) with your application. Two of the three references must be your immediate or previous supervisor and a current or former colleague.
Are you looking for an opportunity to gain internal audit experience in an innovative team?
The Audit Project Leader at Canadian Heritage leads engagements for the Office of the Chief Audit Executive, from the audit plan to report publication. Our multidisciplinary team carries out approximately 6 assurance/consulting engagements per year, in addition to ad-hoc requests to answer strategic management needs of the organization. Canadian Heritage is a horizontal organization, where you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Chief Audit Executive, departmental senior management and the Departmental Audit Committee, in order to design and deliver value-added engagements. You will also have the opportunity to put your leadership into action to lead teams comprised of public servants, consultants and subject matter experts.
If a dynamic experience in a department that values and solicits the contribution of internal auditors sounds like your dream job, the Audit Project Leader position at Canadian Heritage may be right for you!
The Office of the Chief Audit Officer consists of a team of 20 employees lead by the Chief Audit Executive. This team located in national headquarters plays an important role in supporting Canadian Heritage’s departmental operations. The scope of work of the Office of the Chief Audit Executive is to determine whether Canadian Heritage’s framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and achieves its intended objectives.
In 2017 and 2018 the Globe and Mail published a special magazine feature on Canada’s top 100 employers, and Canadian Heritage made the list. You will be working in an environment that supports work-life balance, in a downtown Gatineau location (Terrasses de la Chaudière), close to gyms, cafés, and bicycle trails. Also, the programs and services that the Department provides to Canadians are geared around the promotion of Canadian identity, culture, arts and sport.
The intention of the process is to staff two (2) positions indeterminately.
A pool of partially and qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at the AS-06 group and level in the Office of the Chief Audit Executive.
