Information on accommodation for persons with disabilities
In collaboration with scientific, technical and managerial staff, creates annual work plans that support researcher needs. Identifies innovative and cost-effective solutions, plans and coordinates activities which support research commitments with industry and academic stakeholders. Adapts work plans on a daily or seasonal basis depending on weather conditions, changing science priorities and availability of human resources. Collaborates with subordinate supervisors to develop preventative and maintenance action plans for farm and barn facilities. Researches and prepares documents, develops cost models for researchers, maintains records of equipment and supply inventories. Prepares progress reports, cost and time expenditures and revenue reports for the Associate Director. Oversees the work of contractors for repair of farm and barn facilities and equipment.

Secondary School Diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
*Recent Experience in planning and managing operations of an agricultural research environment including greenhouses, growth facilities, or field operations.
Experience in planning and managing support services, mechanical repair and maintenance of farm machinery and fleet.
Experience supervising staff.
*Recent experience refers to experience acquired within the last 5 years.
Experience in managing budgets and material and equipment needs
Experience in using various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience in determining crop input requirements and coordinating the efficient use of growth chambers and greenhouse space.
Experience in coordinating greenhouse operations, the maintenance of farm equipment and purchasing of farm supplies.
Experience in managing training requirements, conducting performance appraisals, setting priorities, and managing work schedules for staff.
Experience in staffing and managing human resource issues.
Experience working with greenhouses and growth chambers.
Experience in conducting Job Safety Analysis and developing Safe Work Procedures.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of methods, techniques and practices of farm land management, crop rotation, and crop production methods in a research setting.
Knowledge of greenhouse and growth chamber operation in a research setting.
Knowledge of specialised terminology related to crop experimental design, mechanical designs and electronic designs.
