Education:
A secondary school diploma or combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
a) Significant* experience in planning, leading and directing logistics for large conferences** or similar events.
b) Significant* experience in liaising with event stakeholders in senior positions such as clients, partners and participants.
c) Experience in building and maintaining networks of service providers (i.e. venues, suppliers, vendors).
d) Experience in providing strategic advice and preparing summary reports for senior management***.
e) Experience in establishing and managing budgets as well as negotiating and managing contracts.
* Significant experience refers to depth and breadth of experience normally acquired through the performance of duties for at least three years.
** Large Conference is defined as a Conference or Workshop of more than 400 people.
*** Senior Management is defined as a Director level or equivalent.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Diploma in project or event management.
Asset Experience:
Experience using various tools and technologies to manage networks and deliver events (e.g. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, surveys, social media and other web 2.0 platforms, virtual meeting software, interactive event tools, etc).
Experience in developing a strategic logistics plan for multiple events within a business cycle.
Asset Knowledge:
Knowledge of Government of Canada policies and processes related to event coordination and management, including travel.
OPERATIONAL NEEDS
Willingness and ability to work overtime on occasion.
